OHSAA | State Semifinals for Boys' and Girls' Basketball Set to Return to Dayton

COLUMBUS, Ohio--During monthly meetings, the OHSAA Board of Directors approved modified basketball dates for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. 

As part of the change, the state girls' and boys' basketball tournaments will return to a format that will include the semifinals and finals all being held within a three - to four - day period. 

All finals will remain at the University of Dayton, and all semifinals will be held at the University of Dayton or other sites in the Dayton area. 

The starting date for the regular season contests will remain the same for the 2025-2026 season, so eliminating an extra week for the state semifinals means schools will have an extra week to schedule regular season games prior to the start of OHSAA tournaments. 

In 2026-2027, the start of the regular season will be a week later, so that extra week in the regular season will no longer be available.
