Marcus Moore Jr. joins new coach Barry Odom in West Lafayette
West Lafayette, Indiana--Marcus Moore Jr. has found a new home, after entering the infamous transfer portal and has landed at Purdue University according to 247Sports.
Moore Jr. was a three-star recruit out of Massillon Washington High School, he recorded over 40 tackles and 17 solo with 2.5 sacks in his time as a prep player.
He committed to the Akron Zips making his 2023 season his redshirt year but played in five games with a total of eight tackles, in his 2024 campaign he played in 12 games recorded 31 tackles (23 assisted) and a couple tackles for loss, with a fumble recovery.
I've talked to their D-line coach (Kelvin Green) a lot and I like him, he's a good dude," said Moore Jr. "I've visited once to see the coaches and my position to see what they have they're talent wise. They got some ball players, but one thing that sticks out is my way to hold double teams and also split them.
Purdue finished 0-9 in the Big Ten last season, eventually hiring Barry Odom as the 38th coach in December of 2024 to lead the program after having success at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, fresh off of steering them to its winningest football season in 40 years.
