PLAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio--For a high school athlete to mimic the heroics of one of the greatest basketball players to lace up a pair of sneakers like Michael Jordan is rare and memorable, Glenoak's Adrion Burt can take stake in having that same achievement.
It was the first playoff home game win for Scott Garcia and the Eagles in nine years, as it was worth the wait as they just squeezed by with a 16-7 win over Lorain.
In a game where his starting junior quarterback Adrion Burt was listed as 'sick' prior to the start of the game and would not be present with the team.
Glenoak was having some late regular season success, winning four of their last five games, coming into a rare playoff game without Burt was a huge blow to their offense.
In the first half, the Eagle offense struggled to move the ball both on the ground and in the air, slowed by penalties and a solid Lorain defense would leave Glenoak down 7-0 to end the half.
It would be a tale of two halves for Glenoak, Burt would emerge from the locker room in full uniform after it was said to have taken some supplements (steak dinner and fluids) for his illness, that would prove to give him the energy he would need to play the second half.

He was the spark they needed, the offense started to move through the air and on the ground as Burt would use his superior vision and his elusive footwork to get in the endzone for the go-ahead score with help from then running back Jamar Johnson (would transfer to Canton Mckinley after 2023 season) and sibling Avantae Burt to seal the win during that drive.
"First half I was kinda sick, but I couldn't let it get to me, it's our guys senior year" said Burt. "I'm playing for them I can't let them go down like that."
After a dismal senior season, Burt is now committed to Tiffin University to start his college career coming in the fall of 2025, this will always be dubbed as the 'Flu Game'.
