Tyler Curtain hired as next head football coach at Lutheran East High School

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Oh--There will be a new leader for the Lutheran East football program starting in the upcoming 2025 season, Tyler Curtain also known as 'Coach Curt' has been hired as the new head football coach bringing 10 years of experience with him.
Curtain has made coaching stops at Kent Roosevelt, Euclid and most recently Shaker Heights before landing his first head coaching gig.
He has held many titles in his time coaching at the high school level such as Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, Academic Coordinator, and Director of Football Operations to add to his resume.

"Coach Curtain has a proven track record of helping student-athletes succeed in football, in their careers as students, and in their lives going forward into young adulthood. Lutheran East is blessed to have Coach Curtain join our Falcon family," said Lutheran East Athletic Director Anthony Jones.
Coaching positions included most on the defensive side of the ball, OL, DL, WR, LB, and safeties.
Coach Curt understands the coaching culture and community and has strong leadership skills, "First and foremost, I want to thank God for this incredible opportunity. It has always been a dream of mine to become a Head Coach. I come from a family of faith and leadership, so this opportunity to lead young men is a task I will embrace wholeheartedly," said Curtain.
A few notables have had the pleasure of having Curtain as a coach in some capacity such as Trey McNutt (Oregon 2025), Dakota Cochran (Central State 2021), Avery Dunn (Michigan State 2020), Tommy Dunn (Brown 2023) All-Ohio, Ayden Murray (Purdue 2024) All Conference DPOY, Jahdae Walker (Texas A&M 2021) currently in NFL Draft, Kelvon Blackmon (Kent to Akron 2018), Steve Henderson (Youngstown State 2024, Ty Howard (Duquesne - Ohio State 2022).
Lutheran East finished (9-2) in 2024, under then Head Coach Desean Washington, making the postseason losing to Field.
