DAYTON, Oh--Portsmouth came and conquered after a disappointing loss in last year's state championship game, cruising to a 53-38 victory.
Much of the first quarter the Trojans were capitalizing off Norwayne turnovers, ten to be exact in the first quarter was the beginning of the end for Norwayne.
Portsmouth never trailed after that holding a commanding lead led by junior Sienna Allen who had 11 points at the half with the Trojans leading 27-14 to end the half.
Opening the half Portsmouth had an 8-0 run and 20 point lead as teammates KeKe Woods and Hayven Carter would step up for Sienna Allen both combining for 22 points at this point in the game.
Coach Shoup spoke on the early turnovers, "It was a focal point."
Ava Miabach for Norwayne was important on the boards as she would gather seven total at this point in the game with help from Hannah Froelich grabbing down five, more than any player from Portsmouth.
"They really pressed me and got to me," said Miabach.

By games end and Portsmouth in the driver seat, Norwayne would have 24 total turnovers they take home a OHSAA state championship trophy and quite surprising they only have 2 seniors leaving the program we may not have seen the last of Amy Hughes and the Portsmouth Trojans.
"It's been a dream, Its been a goal," said Amy Hughes.
Sienna Allen, KeKe Woods and Hayven Carter are returning next year, asked if they could win it next year, "Yes that's our goal," they all responded.
