DAYTON, Oh--In a low scoring defensive game, Bellevue walks away with state championship trophy over Archbishop Alter 40-29.

The game was a game of cold shooting as Alter went 1 for 21 in the first half, and Bellevue went 4 for 19 as this was a low scoring affair from the start.

Bellevue's Audrey Turner got off to a solid start scoring the first seven points of the game in a 9 point quarter.

Bellevue still managed to squeak out a win and very first OHSAA state title.

"I think our relationship that we built with us players has helped us to be able to get this far," said Turner.

Hailey Rees was also a bright spot going 9 for 11 at the free throw line to help keep the Redmen ahead even by short margins.

The Redman managed to get going early in the second half going 7 for 14 from the field, a much better output that helped them propel themselves to a 17 point fourth quarter to eventually pull away from Alter.

Senior Maddie Moody was the game leading scorer for Archbishop Alter with 12 and had a very emotional exit from the game as this would be the last time we would see her in an Alter uniform.
