MASSILLON, Ohio--Massillon boys opened up district play without any resistance as they dismantled John Adams 86-36.

Massillon came out in fashion going on a 7-0 run to start the game, their aggressive pressing and trapping caused a lot of issues for the Rebels.

Offensively the Tigers moved the ball efficiently and effectively as all five starters scored in the first five minutes of the game.

Chris Knight would lead the charge as Gio Jackson Jr. and Terrelle Keyes would follow suit leading to a 26 point point quarter.

"You know early off everybody was sharing the ball, it was just clicking for everybody, we was all sharing it and that just filtered through the whole game." Knight said.

John Adams would get a little fight in them led by El'Jon Jones who scored the first seven points of the contest as they would end the period trailing 26-16.

The second quarter is where it all went south, Massillon would score 28 points which would lead to a running clock to open up the 3rd quarter. Leading by 30 plus, the starters would sit towards the latter part of the period.

Terrelle Keyes would lead all scorers with 17, Knight with 16 and Jackson Jr with 12, "Coach said before the game we gotta play to our strength no matter what team were playing," said Keyes.

Massillon advances to play Shaker Heights this Saturday at Wooster High School with a tip-off time of 4 p.m., while John Adams finishes their season with a 4-13 record according to MaxPreps.

"I was really pleased with the way we moved the basketball and shared the ball on the offensive end," said Josh Hose.
