OHIO--In a surprise press conference from the Ohio State House, governor Mike DeWine announced that replacement for John Husted, who was appointed to Ohio's Senate seat would be former Ohio State head football coach Jim Tressel.

Tressel also served as president of Youngstown State University retiring a year and a half ago, DeWine referred to him as, "A natural leader." "He has the requisite skill sets. He has the criteria that I outlined, he knows Ohio," said DeWine.

The nomination now must be approved by the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House.

He is also known for his time as head coach at Youngstown State (1986-2000), where he also won a national championship defeating Marshall University.
