ALLIANCE, Ohio--It was a tournament game for the ages, as Barberton would come from behind and win in a boys sectional final over Alliance 71-61.

Alliance being seeded #13 and Barberton #28 in the division three bracket and more wins in the win column, they were the favored to win, with the game in control midway, it would seem that way.

In the first quarter Barberton had control gaining a 16-6 lead in the first 5 minutes of play led by big shots by De'Arion Holley and senior Kardiay Tyler hitting big three's and a tough backcourt slowing the Alliance offense down.

Junior Joey Ondo also contributed to the solid shooting of Barberton throughout the quarter, "We got rebounds and they left me open, I hit shots like that and I been hitting those shots all year," Ondo said.

Barberton would end the quarter with a 5 point lead 22-17.

Alliance would start to heat up in the 2nd quarter, so would J.R. Jackson which the Magics had no answer for, would score 17 of 24 in the first half of play, as they would outscore Barberton 24-13 during that stretch to end the quarter and the lead 41-35.

Opening up the 3rd quarter the Aviators would extend lead again off the play of Jackson and Kamren Burton opening up a double digit lead heading into the 4th quarter leading by 10.

As big man Holley would be in foul trouble the magics backcourt would create some turnovers and scores,"Our backcourt we want to make sure we handle the ball, make the right decisions obviously everybody go make mistakes but making sure the majority of us make the right decisions," said Tyler.

Holley had picked up his 4th foul at the 3:44 mark and his 5th and final foul at the 1:57 mark, Barberton still had enough to overcome foul trouble and extend lead by 8 more after gaining lead 62-61 with just over a minute left in game and sealing the deal 71-61.

"When you're the underdog you got nothing to loose," said Hazard.

Barberton awaits the winner of Bedford and Maple Heights after tonight's win. Alliance finishes 15-7 to round out the season.
