STARK COUNTY, Ohio--Monday was a big day for High School Football as two coaching vacancies were filled as announced within hours of each other.
Canton Mckinley selected current Akron Hoban defensive coordinator Renard 'Renzy' Parnell II (board approved) to lead the program succeeding Antonio Hall, Parnell comes from a long history of football as he has past and current family members that coach the beloved game.

Parnell was promoted to defensive coordinator for the Knights in 2015 until today, his defenses were top in the state for multiple years, two undefeated teams (2018, 2020) and has won five state championships in 10 years all of which Parnell was leader on defense.
He played at Akron Garfield High School then moved on to Kent State University leaving with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 2004.
Minerva hires former Perry Panther Zach Slates
Minerva local board of education selected Zach Slates to be the next head football coach, Slates was head coach at Massillon Perry from 2020-2024, previously an assistant and educator in the Perry Local School District.

Slates comes to a program that has not won many games in recent times, having only won one game in 3 years.
Slates compiled a record of (16-28) for the Panthers after succeeding longtime coach Keith Wakefield.
Following Slates will be Tim Wolf according to Minerva press release he will be brought on as an assistant to Slates and assistant principal in the district.
