Perry Panthers select Spencer Leno to lead the football program

PERRY TWP, OH--Perry Panthers have made their decision on who will lead the football program after Zach Slates departure from the program.

Massillon native Spencer Leno is tabbed as the next head football coach according to the media release from Perry Local School District.

Spencer has spent the last seven seasons under Nate Moore and the Massillon Tigers as assistant coach using his expertise on the defensive side of the ball. 

Spencers' playing experience includes Massillon (2006-09) and Wittenberg University (2010-2013) and previous coaching experience at Columbus Westland High School (2013), Urbana High School (2014).

"After an extensive search and careful consideration, we are thrilled to welcome Spencer Leno as our new Head Football Coach," said Perry High School Athletic Director Kevin Yoder. 

Leno has a State Championship under his belt under his defensive guise going undefeated to capture the OHSAA Division II State Title in 2023-24.

"It is with tremendous honor and gratitude that I accept the opportunity to be the next Head Football Coach at Perry High School," said Leno.
