MILLERSBURG, Ohio--Game seven of the Classic in the Country was an instant classic as Mt. Notre Dame slithers past Magnificat 47-43.
In a game where the largest lead was 12 and three lead changes neither team got out too far ahead of each other.
Mt. Notre Dame during the first quarter would settle into a 1-3-1 full court press with about three minutes left that would cause problems for Magnificat, that would slow them down considerably leading to an 11-8 final quarter score with Mt. Notre Dame trailing.
The second quarter would see Mt. Notre Dame trailing for much of the period, due to the big shots by Magnificat senior Sofia Wilson who would knock down 3 triples and senior Julia Hall (11 first half points) to keep the Blue Streaks ahead despite junior Mia Veith going shot for shot ending out the first half with 15 points, again trailing 20-27 going into halftime.
The second half would be a tale of two halves as Mt. Notre Dame would play solid defense causing turnovers that resulted in 25 total points of those turnovers for the game and again the hot shooting of Mia Veith.

"Our bench had so much energy tonight, all the energy just kept me going even though I was tired," said Veith.
Bench helped indeed and senior Kailee Bransford would tip in 6 points in the second half, of her 10 for the game.
They would start to impose their will on Magnificat ending the quarter trailing by 33-35.
With 1:40 left in the game Magnificat leading 40-39, senior Grace Pitzer would score back-to-back buckets to pull ahead with 1:06 left and Veith would cap ito off with a big 3 pointer to seal the win.
With the win Mt. Notre Dame improves to 12-2 on the season with a Classic in the Country matchup with Fairland, Magnificat will fall to 10-4 also a Classic in the Country game versus Winton Woods.
