MASSILLON, Ohio--The Massillon girls basketball program has had its ups and downs during the 2024-25 campaign, but has found a way to hold it together as a team after being deleted five wins due to an ineligible rostered player.

One bright spot is up and coming freshman Delaney Pierce, who has over the course of the season improved as a young varsity player and starter.

Pierce, in a home game win over Glenoak, recorded a rare quadruple-double, that is the first of the season in Stark County hitting a 20-10-10-10 stat line for the game but this milestone may be outside of the county, that would be recorded as points, rebounds, assist and steals in her case.

Pretty impressive coming from a freshman player and modest to say the least about a huge milestone so early in her high school career.
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to put in work everyday at practice and try my hardest to get better," said Pierce. "My teammates and our style of play sets everyone of us up for success when we play hard."

Quadruple doubles are very rare to come by, one last known recorded milestone was last season when then freshman from Youngstown Chaney, Alyssa Brown posted (14 pts, 10 rebs, 10 assist, 12 steals) during a January '24 contest.

Other notes: Akron Ellet's senior guard Caitlyn Holmes missed a quadruple-double by 2 assist versus Walsh Jesuit in a game January 3 of this season.

A quadruple-double is considered when a player scores in double digits in four statistical categories in one game.
