CANTON, Ohio--For the first time in history the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association (OHSBCA) sponsors high school event using the shot clock.
Over a three-day event on Dec. 27-29 the association will feature 15 games (5 girls, 10 boys) that will utilize a shot clock under the guidelines of the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS).
"Data and information will be gathered from this event to continue discussions surrounding the future implementations of the shot clock in the state of Ohio," said Joe Balogh OHSBCA Executive Director.
The event will take place at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse located at 1815 Harrison Ave NW, Canton, Ohio 44708.
This event was approved by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, "We are excited about seeing how the shot clock works during this event with the possibility of expanding the event to various locations next year," said Doug Ute OHSAA Commissioner.
