MASSILLON, Ohio--Lake would walk away with their first victory of the young season with a win over Dalton in the Hall of Fame Hoops Hardwood Classic 55-45.

They grinded out a tough win with physical play led by senior Will Koehl who led with 26 points as one of the only two seniors rostered this season.

Koehl also left with the game MVP award for most outstanding player for the Blue Streaks.

"Big shout out to my teammates, small crowd you know it's late at night, I mean we just had to come up with energy somehow," said Koehl.

In a battle pretty much the whole game, Lake would be down by six as the first quarter closed out, but that wouldn't last long as McBride's offensive would start to execute and scoring the basket closing out at the rim.

"I thought we won that game because of physicality tonight," said McBride. "I thought we were more physical than the opponent was."

For Dalton the bright spot was senior Brady Hignight who finished with 16 points respectively.

The win puts the Blue Streaks record to 1-3 heading into a matchup with Massillon Jackson.
