MINERVA, Ohio--The Kirtland Hornets will be making an 8th attempt with an unblemished record (27 dating back to last year) to advance to attempt to bring home a State Championship, as they collide with Galion Northmor in the Division VI Region 21 State semi-final Friday at Hines Stadium in Minerva.
Kirtland has a head coach with championship pedigree, Tiger LaVerde, having won 7 in the small school division puts him in an exclusive Ohio group.
With wins over Dalton twice in the regular season and playoffs, Perry (Lake County), Geneva most would take this team seriously.
Kirtland's Danny Alfieri has rushed for over 1,400 yards and 35 touchdowns this season, also QB Jake LeVerde, is in his second game back coming off a surgery for a broken arm that happened in week 6 versus Fairview. Jake is also the son of the head coach of the Hornets.
All 14 @OHSAASports football state semifinals will be available on @SpectrumNews1OH App & website, as well as https://t.co/kphl2pYX28.

The Golden Knights are coached by Scott Armrose who has been at the helm since 2017, and are led by senior QB AJ Bower who as of 13th game of season thrown for 2577 yards and 34 TD's respectively, his favorite target is senior receiver Jax Wenger who returned after missing 3 games due to an appendectomy.
Wenger picked up 134 yards and 2 TD's versus Grandview Heights in the regional final.
The winner will advance and play either Coldwater or Bluffton for the OHSAA Div. VI State Championship.
