MINERVA, OH- During the pre-season high school football preview back in August, Minerva head coach Tim Speakman elaborated on how most of his varsity guys was yet to taste a victory on the gridiron, all that changed Friday night as they would overcome the drought and defeat St. Thomas Aquinas 16-7 after 33 games.
"I'm so happy for our players," Speakman said. "The time they've put in the last two and half years with me and this staff, the grinding and hearing all this stuff being said by other people they stuck with it," Speakman said to the Canton Repository.

Ohsfbmedia.com was not covering but it was a story worth writing about, to end the adversity and overcome the long drought is a special moment for the Minerva football program and their supporting community, bringing confidence back to the players and the program.

Minerva will try and keep the streak alive in week six versus a very tough opponent in an undefeated West Branch who is perfect for five weeks.
