CLEVELAND, OH- Two of Northeast Ohio's well known voices and sports personalities are set to be inducted in the place they called home during their high school years, both are graduates of Cleveland Heights High School.
Crump was born and raised in Cleveland, OH, so he is no stranger to the community, starting in 2003 he was hired on the Cavs promotion team and eventually became what we know him as today 'The Voice' of the Cleveland Cavaliers as the in-arena host, who's voice that echoes throughout the arena for 20 years.
He is also the on-air personality for Radio One (93.1 WZAK) and a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
"This honor means so much to me personally, growing up from Coventry and also attending the Coventry Youth Center everyday, to Roxboro to Cleveland Heights, I wouldn't trade my experiences in the Heights for anything," Crump said.
Baskin class of '86 has had stops with major broadcasting companies such as WKYC-Channel 3, WEWS-Channel 5 among a few, he is currently a radio personality for 92.3 The Fan with Jeff Phelps also sports reporter for Spectrum News 1 OH.
"Acceptance into the HOF is a tribute to my teachers, administrators, and friends, Heights taught me education goes beyond the classroom. Our diversity showed me the world is a better place when you have been educated to attempt to understand what it means to walk in another person's shoes," Baskin said.
The Induction Ceremony will be Sept 26 at 8:45 A.M. at Cleveland Heights High School brought to you by Heights Schools Foundation.
