JACKSON TWP, OH- When it comes to outstanding players in athletics earning Player of the Year is a testament to all the hard work put in to achieve such an honor. Jackson High School's senior combo guard Megan Campbell did just that taking home the Federal League award.
Campbell was also honored with the District IV POY, 1st team All-Fed among other honors, what makes this special is the fact this award has not been done in 35+ years for the Jackson High School girls program. In the course of this award Campbell also added some top level records along the way breaking the single season steal and assists records previously held by Jackson great and current WNBA Los Angeles Sparks player Taylor Mikesell and Anna Alkire.
When asked about this special honor, "It's amazing and I'm so happy about to have won player of the year." she said. Campbell went on to elaborate, "It has been a goal of mine all season and even before," as she continued to speak on her coach and team supporting her journey, "My coaches and teammates helped me achieve this by pushing me hard everyday in the gym." said Campbell.
For the first time in 35+ years, we have a PLAYER OF THE YEAR! Congratulations to @megcampbell03!!! You EARNED this. There is no one more deserving and we are so proud of you👏🏻💜

Special Teammates
In moments like this help, is a standard and as for Campbell she made sure to describe what her teammates meant to her so far this season, "My teammates are so special to me this year, we are all best friends and get along in everything we do." Campbell explained. That tells about the motivation good teammates give you when the program is on the same page for the better part, "They work so hard everyday and push me to be the best version of myself, if it wasn't for them I definitely wouldn't be where I am today." replied Campbell.
Inspiring The Next Generation
In a players career as seasons' pass when you consistently perform at a high level and with character and class, peers and younger players who want to be on that level pay attention and stay locked in. When questioned about what advice would you leave them with she elaborated, "Advice to younger girls is to always work hard because it will pay off if you put time into it, always enjoy every moment because it goes super fast." she explained. Very well put by the Tiffin University commit.
