Nelsonville-York combo guard Airah Lavy becomes schools all-time scoring leader commits to St. Francis University

NELSONVILLE, OH- Records are definitely meant to be broken and in the case of Nelsonville-York's standout combo guard Airah Lavy it came in a night when she got the win and the record. The win came over a Meigs team 58-45 Lavy scored the record breaking three point bucket early in the 4th quarter and setting the mark at 1,533 respectively.

In a social media interview with Lavy this is what she had to say about breaking the record, "Breaking the all-time scoring record means so much to me, I have put in so much work throughout high school to get to where I am today, being able to break it with the team i have now made the moment even more special." Lavy went on to add that the support of her community, team and family helped her along the way when she replied, "I am honored to hold this record."

Lavy not only would break the all-time scoring record we also spoke about her commitment to St. Francis University a Div. I Catholic university located in Loretto, Pennsylvania playing out of the (NEC) Northeast Conference a member of the NCAA, when asked about her commitment she replied, "St. Francis was my top pick because as soon as I stepped on campus I knew it was the place for me, the coaching staff and team was also a huge factor in my decision." Lavy made her commitment according to her "X" formally known as twitter post in Oct. '23.

Nelsonville-York schools are located in southeastern Ohio on the further north side of Athens County with a very small student population of about 1,400+ students from PreK to 12th grade.
