Massillon football | DaOne Owens Commits to "The Rock" of Slippery Rock University

MASSILLON, OH- Star quarterback DaOne Owens who helped guide the Massillon Tigers to a Div. II State Championship has announced his college selection via "X" formally known as Twitter to Div. II Slippery Rock University.
Owens led the Tigers to an undefeated season and numerous post-season awards, breaking the school's single-season QB rushing record previously held by Willie Spencer Jr. respectively rushing for over a 1,000 yards. After a February transfer from Copley High School which led to a mid-season OHSAA suspension that was due to the associations transfer bylaws was cleared of any violation, from that point there was no looking back for the 6'1 205lb quarterback.

Slippery Rock University is located in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania and competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, as of last season The Rock made their 5th consecutive NCAA playoff appearance and it's eighth trek to the national playoffs in the last 10 years.
