Gahanna Lincoln Wins OCC Championship with Holcomb interception in double overtime

Gahanna, OH- In a battle for league championship in the Ohio Capital Conference it would have to be decided between two undefeated teams coming into a week 10 sold out match up Gahanna Lincoln would be hosting Pickerington North to decide that fate. 

Gahanna would be led by Senior West Virginia commit Diore Hubbard by all regards is having a tremendous season following a Mr. Football Ohio finalist season one year before, Pickerington North would be without Senior Ohio State commit Sam Williams-Dixon so Dorian Hamilton and QB Landon O'Connell would carry the load.

Early in the game both teams would struggle to score only having being tied 7-7 at halftime. Coming into the 3rd quarter it would be a tale of two halves Pick North would score twice in the quarter first off the hands of QB Landon O'Connell to Jaiden Vital on a 77 yard catch and run to the house and a pick six 97 TD by Junior LB Rafael "Tank" Washington that would put Pick North in the lead by two touchdowns leading 21-7, the lead would be cut to a touchdown when Diore Hubbard scored on a 7 yard run with 4:22 left in 3rd quarter.

Coming into the final quarter of regulation Pick North would be held scoreless Gahanna's defense would stand through the rain and cold for a turnover on downs with 8:16 left in game and the offense would muster up a single TD again by Diore Hubbard a 4 yard romp with 4:07 left in the game would bring the score to a 21-21 tie, with the game on the line RB Diore Hubbard would fumble just under a minute to go while in scoring position game would end in 21-21 tie.

First Overtime 

Both teams would score on given possessions Pick North Dorian Hamilton on a 6 yard run then Gahanna would score on a 8 yard pass from QB Brennen Ward to Junior Tayshawn Parm to end the first OT again tied 28-28.

Second Overtime

This second overtime would decide the winner and OCC Championship and would go undefeated heading into playoffs the workhorse Diore Hubbard would score with the first overtime possession on a 9 yard rushing TD, on Pick North's final possession of the game QB Landon O'Connell would attempt a pass to Junior Preston Bowman to have it intercepted by Junior DB Terrell Holcomb that would seal the deal for Gahanna Lincoln as they go on to win 35-28.
