Cleveland Heights, OH- We don't think many High School Football games would end in with a 114 total points scored but it did happen in this clash of teams in the Greater Cleveland Conference match-up between the Tigers of Cleveland Heights and the Bees of Medina with Heights hosting with two candidates for Ohio Mr. Football in Medina's Senior QB Danny Stoddard and Heights Junior RB Marquise Davis respectively.
From the early outset of the game Stoddard and Davis were their typical selves scoring early and often not knowing that this would be the entire game a back and forth battle all game long, this game had everything you would want in a HS football game.
Stoddard got going putting the first score on the board with a 22 yard TD pass to Angus Nathan with 9:32 left in first qtr of action to go up 7-0, a few possessions later Davis would run for a 37 yard TD to tie it up and this would be the story Heights ended the qtr with 28 points to Medina's 13.
By halftime 75 total points were was scored by both teams leading into the 3rd Qtr Medina managed to slow the attack by Heights down holding them scoreless and etching their way back into the game by closing the margin by 9 heading into the 4th Qtr.
At the end of the game Heights would hold off Medina's late game surge and hold on to a 62-52 home victory. Medina's Stoddard would end the game with a stat line with 450+ yards in the air, 100+ on the ground and 7 TD's total, Heights Marquise Davis finished with 361 yards of rushing with 6 TD's.
Both teams had great contributions from teammates Heights Senior John Gordon Jr who had a key INT and 2 TD's, Medina's Austin "Cheatcode" Knowles was key target for Stoddard with 11 catches for 200 yards respectively.
This is one of the most exciting games covered by Ohsfbmedia.
