D'Shawntae Jones And The Glenville Tarblooders Ends A Historic Season For Canton South In OHSAA State Semi-finals 42-21

Glenville Football | Tarblooders Making Second Consecutive Trip To State Finals

Wadsworth, OH: The Canton South Wildcats season ended on a State Semi-final trip to Wadsworth, Ohio facing defending State  Champion The Glenville Tarblooders it was a cold but good night for High School Football as many in attendance was thinking Canton South would do the unthinkable and never done in the history of the program and make a trip to states.

Senior QB Poochie Snyder would be by most opinions the one who could lead them there because his success throughout the season, teams would have to prepare for the type of games he put on display. Snyder had his moments in this game but would come up short vs. a tough defense by the Tarblooders.

South had trouble early stopping the run attack led by Senior RB D'Shawntae Jones who scored two early touchdowns and finished the first half tossing one for a TD, this was the beginning of the end for the Wildcats who never got close enough to make it a game although they never stopped it just wouldn't be.

Glenville would go on to win 42-21 and advance to the State Championship for a shot at a back-to-back title run. For Snyder and company it would end an historic run and plenty of first for the 2023 edition of the Canton South Wildcats.

D'Shawntae Jones nephew of former Ohio State QB and National Champion Cardale Jones finished the game with 257 yards and 4 TD's on 24 carries.
